The amount of dermal fillers necessary for injection in the face or cheek is different on a case by case basis. Dr. Dugar takes time with each of his patients to inspect their unique facial structure and to address any specific wants and/or concerns his patients may have. Dr. Dugar is very natural with his injectables and the amount of filler administered typically varies from patient to patient depending on a variety of factors. On average, most patients will need around a half to two syringes of cheek filler (1 mL or cc in each syringe) on each side of their face. This will depend on how volume deficient your complexion is and how natural you would like your results to be.
There are a few different types of cheek filler available in the market, but at Scarless Medspa™ we strictly prefer and utilize hyaluronic acid cheek filler. Hyaluronic acid is naturally produced by the body and as a dermal filler it allows for hydration and restoration of volume. Because it is naturally produced by the body, hyaluronic acid is temporary and fully reversible at any time. Hyaluronic acid filler injected in the cheek can be expected to last between six to twelve months, sometimes longer. Most patients will return to our Scarless Medspa™ at the eight month mark to replenish filler that was metabolized.
