A lot of surgeons are comfortable with using scarring procedures when it comes to performing Rhinoplasty, but Dr. Dugar goes above and beyond for his patients. At Beverly Hills Rhinoplasty Center™ located in Los Angeles, CA, Dr. Dugar offers Closed Scarless Rhinoplasty for his patients.

With our sophisticated and scarless techniques, ironically most of our patients are more worried about the anesthesia then they are about their nose. This is totally normal and understandable. For many of our younger patients, this is the first time they are ever undergoing anesthesia as well.
Some common questions you may have, we hope to answer here:
Does anything hurt?
There is no major pain related to the surgery, but you may feel congested or stuffy afterward. The morning of the surgery, Dr. Puja will place a small IV in your arm, after which no other procedures are performed while you are awake. Her background training in Pediatric anesthesia allows her to place this almost painlessly and effortlessly. After the IV is in place, we titrate small amounts of medications to slowly drift you off to sleep. We do not bolus large quantities of medications, especially for young patients whose systems have never been exposed to drugs or any type. We purposely titrate small tiny amounts at a time to get you comfortable and calm in a peaceful process.
What type of Anesthesia do you use?
We use General Anesthesia, as it is the safest method for performing Scarless Nose surgery. For healthy teenagers and adults, there is an extremely low risk with General Anesthesia. It is considered extremely safe.

Am I completely asleep during surgery?
Yes. You are completely asleep and will not feel anything or remember anything during the surgery.
Will I wake up during surgery?
No, you will absolutely never wake up during surgery. We carefully titrate the medications so that you are completely asleep the entire time.
How long does anesthesia last?
Anesthesia for the Scarless Nose surgery generally lasts between 1-2 hours. Dr. Puja titrates the anesthesia so you wake up peacefully moments after the surgery has ended. Once awake, the effects of the anesthesia begin to wear off quickly and you will be able to see your family and friends shortly thereafter. The first night after surgery, there may be some residual drowsiness, which completely resolves by the day after. Usually, patients have little to no nausea.
Will Dr. Puja be with me the whole time?
Dr. Puja and Dr. Dugar, are with you for the entire process. Dr. Puja will be with you in the pre-operative area, and will personally take you to the operating room. She will be with you in the operating room the entire time and will take you to the recovery area afterward herself. She will be with you in the recovery area until you are stable and safe for discharge home.
How long will I be in recovery?
You will be in recovery area after surgery for a period of 1-2 additional hours. You will quickly wake up and recover from the anesthesia. Once awake, you will be able to be visited by friends or family accompanying you. Once deemed safe for discharge, all instructions will be reviewed and you will be taken home, to a hotel, or recovery center by a loved one.

The Five Things I Hate
About Rhinoplasty
These five things are constantly in my mind during every consultation and every surgery. This is where being the only surgeon in the USA whose entire surgical practice is dedicated to Scarless Rhinoplasty allows a superior advantage of finding the perfect delicate balance of meaningful refinement to a nose without drastic uncomfortable change. Natural noses are mandatory in my practice.
