The appearance of laugh lines, also known as nasolabial folds, can be reduced with a few measures found in our Scarless Nose™ Medspa.
The first of these measures is with the injection of filler. There are a few different types of filler available in the market, but at Scarless Medspa we strictly prefer and utilize hyaluronic acid filler. Hyaluronic acid is naturally produced by the body and as a dermal filler it allows for hydration and restoration of volume. Because it is naturally produced by the body, hyaluronic acid is temporary and fully reversible at any time with the addition of the enzyme hyaluronidase. Hyaluronic acid filler injected in the nasolabial folds can be expected to last between six to twelve months.
The second of these measures to get rid of laugh lines may also be improved with the addition of neuromodulator (Botox, Dysport) in the depressor anguli oris also known as the DAO. This neuromodulator injection helps lift the corners of the mouth and reduce lines in the nasolabial folds. Effects of this injection will take five to seven days to show results, and we advise that our patients stay away from intense heat like hot sauna or hot yoga that may neutralize the effects before they fully kick in. Results will last for up to three to four months before requiring re-injection.
Depending on your complexion and needs, we may recommend this treatment in conjunction with filler for optimal improvement of the appearance of laugh lines.
In addition to the injection of dermal fillers and neuromodulators, laugh lines or nasolabial folds may be improved with the use of a variety of lasers such as morpheus8, microneedling, clear and brilliant, and others depending on your skin quality and needs.
